You only need 5 minutes and 5 spices to create your own batch of Pumpkin Spice.
So what is pumpkin spice if it’s not pumpkin?
To be clear, there is no actual pumpkin in pumpkin spice.
As a substitution for 1 teaspoon of allspice, you can use 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon, 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves, and a pinch of ground nutmeg.
Rich in cell-protecting antioxidants and unmistakable warmth, cinnamon is the star ingredient of pumpkin spice.
Here’s the recipe to make your own Pumpkin Spice.
You’ll need :
1/2 cup ground cinnamon,
1/3 cup ground dried ginger,
1/3 cup ground nutmeg,
1/4 cup ground allspice and
3 tbs ground cloves.
Add all ingredients to an airtight glass jar, shake until combined.
