Serving 12 rolls
1/2 cup warm whole milk (115°F)
1/2 cup warm water (115°F)
1 pkg fast acting dry yeast
½ tablespoons sugar
½ teaspoon kosher salt
2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
1 egg white beaten
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 cloves garlic, minced
2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley leaves (optional)
DIRECTIONS for Delicious Garlic Rolls:
Combine 1 cup flour, milk, water, yeast, sugar and salt in a small bowl; Blend at low speed until moistened, beat 2 minutes at medium speed. Stir in an additional ½ to 1 cup flour until dough pulls cleanly away from sides of bowl.
On floured surface, kneed in ½ cup flour until dough is smooth and elastic (about 5 minutes)
Lightly oil a large bowl or coat with nonstick spray; place dough in bowl, turning to coat.
Cover (in warm place 80-85°F)with a clean dishtowel and let stand in a warm spot until dough has doubled in size, about 45 minutes to 1 hour.
Gently deflate dough by punching down to remove all air bubbles.
Divide dough into 12 pieces, shape into balls. Place on greased cookie sheet. Cover with greased plastic wrap.
Let rise in warm place until double in size about 15-20 minutes.
Place shallow pan half full of hot water on lower oven rack.
Heat oven to 425°F. Uncover dough. Brush rolls with egg white. Bake at 425°F for 15-20 minutes. Immediately remove from cookie sheet.
Brush tops with olive oil, sprinkle with garlic and garnished with parsley, if desired. Serve warm -these dehydrated granules are the most popular form o yeast. Enjoy.
Use aluminum pans -they give breads and rolls well browned crust. Uncoated aluminum pans give the most even browning and uniform results. Dark metal pans and glass pans absorb more heat and will produce a darker crust.
